AJ Okereke is a Principal at Portage Ventures and joined the firm in 2024.
As a member of Portage Ventures, AJ invests in early-stage and growth-stage fintech opportunities globally. He is responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including origination, due diligence, execution, and portfolio management.
Prior to Portage, AJ was a Vice President at Insight Partners, a global private equity and venture capital firm where he focused on venture investments in software and fintech. Earlier in his career, AJ was an Investment Professional at Highland Capital Partners and Amity Ventures. Prior to his work in venture, AJ spent numerous years working in product roles for high-growth technology startups in Silicon Valley.
AJ holds an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, and a B.S from Cornell University. Outside of work, AJ serves as a board trustee of Boston College High School, a Jesuit high school in Boston.
