Ricky Lai is a General Partner at Portage Ventures and joined the firm in 2017.
As a member of Portage Ventures, Ricky invests in early-stage fintech opportunities globally. Prior to Portage, Ricky worked at various startups and spent time as an Associate at Mithril360, the analytics and portfolio management affiliate of Mithril Capital Management, a global technology investment firm. Earlier in his career, Ricky was a member of the deal advisory practice for KPMG, where he focused on strategic and financial investments in software and healthcare companies.
Ricky holds a B.Sc. and a M.Acc. from the University of Waterloo, specializing in Biotechnology and Accounting. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA).
