Tom Hutton is Managing Partner at XL Innovate, a specialized VC firm pursuing investments in fintech, new opportunities for insurance underwriting, and related analytics. Tom is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors at SoFi and serves as a Director at Lemonade (former), Slice, and New Energy Risk. He serves as Senior Adviser at Brewer Lane Ventures, Genstar Capital, and Stone Point Capital.
Tom has previously held leadership roles in several financial services and related technology businesses. These have included CEO at Risk Management Solutions and CEO at White Mountains Re, Director roles at XL Group, Safeco, Montpelier Re and Jefferson Smurfit, and Director roles at numerous private and venture-backed companies. He founded New Energy Risk in partnership with XL Group in 2011 and served as CEO until starting XL Innovate in 2015. He has various non-profit roles and interests in secondary school education and energy/environmental initiatives.
